We love Korean food, and this is a great vegetable, side dish to add to your Korean meal!
No special culinary equipment is needed for this vegetable dish.
1 pound of Green Beans, cleaned and cut into bite size pieces
1 tablespoon of Rice Wine Vinegar
2 cloves of Garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
2 Scallions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 tablespoon of Korean Red Pepper Powder
1 tablespoon of Toasted Sesame Oil
1 teaspoon of Toasted Sesame Seeds
Steam the green beans either in the microwave oven in a steamer, or by bringing a pot of water to a boil to cook the green beans until tender. Once they are tender, plunge the green beans into an ice-water bath. Make sure the green beans are still crisp and “al dente”.
For the sauce, whisk the rice wine vinegar, the soy sauce, honey, and the Korean red pepper in a bowl. Heat the sesame oil in a large sauté pan, and then add the onion and garlic. Sauté them until they are translucent. Add the cooked green beans and the sauce. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the flavors are integrated. Serve immediately.
