We enjoy spicy pungent foods, and this dressing is terrific for salads and as a dipping sauce for Chinese pork and shrimp dumplings.
No special, culinary equipment is needed to prepare this wonderful Asian salad and dressing.
For the Zippy, Spicy Ginger Salad Dressing:
1 ½ teaspoons of fresh Ginger, grated
2 cloves of Garlic, minced
Half of a Shallot, minced (about 1 ½ teaspoons)
2 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon of Oyster Sauce
2 tablespoons of Rice Vinegar
1 teaspoon of Toasted Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon of Hot Chili Oil
2 tablespoons of Green Onion, finely chopped
Juice of 1 Lime
1 teaspoon of Honey
For the Chinese Salad:
2 cups of Asian Cabbage Salad Mix
¼ cup of Edamame, shelled
1 tablespoon of Cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons of Mung Bean Sprouts, chopped
2 tablespoons of Carrots, grated
1 Green Onion, finely chopped
6 large Shrimp, cooked, peeled, and deveined
Wonton Strips
To Prepare the Zippy, Spicy Ginger Salad Dressing:
Whisk all ingredients together and toss with the Chinese salad or use as a diping sauce for the Chinese pork and shrimp dumplings, which we order on Amazon and cook as noted on the package.
To Prepare the Chinese Salad:
In the salad bowl, place all the ingredients, and toss together. Serve by pouring the Zippy, Spicy Ginger Salad Dressing on the Chinese Salad when you are ready to serve. Add Wonton strips to top it.
