Grapefruit and Plum Fruit Salad

Recipe by Simone Lagomarsino

We are so fortunate to grow wonderful pink grapefruit, plums, and many other amazing fruits.  This morning, I went out into our garden and picked 2 wonderfully ripe, pink grapefruit as well as two beautiful plums.  I then created a simple recipe that we will certainly make again and again. It is delicious!

Prep Time: 05 minutes
Serves: 4 Servings

No special equipment is needed to prepare this wonderful, fresh salad.

2 Pink Grapefruit, peeled, segmented, and then cut the segments in half

2 Plums, pitted and sliced

2-3 tablespoons of Galliano (an Italian liqueur – used to taste)

¾ teaspoon of Pink Peppercorns, freshly ground

In a serving bowl, put the grapefruit, add the plum slices around the outside of the bowl.  Pour the 2 tablespoons of Galliano over the top, and grind the pink peppercorns on top.  This makes a very nice display.  Prior to serving this fruit salad, mix all of the ingredients and then serve it immediately.

While it may sound unusual to include the freshly ground, pink peppercorns, this dish really comes together. The pink peppercorns really add a wonderful taste!

Serving Suggestion:

We like to serve this along-side a nice Sunday brunch.
